An archaeological museum established in 1961 in a small house in the Shorish neighborhood. In 1981, it was moved to its current location on Salim Street in Sulaymaniyah. This museum ranks tenth among museums in Iraq and houses numerous Mesopotamian artifacts dating back to the Stone Ages and subsequent eras. Additionally, the Kurdistan Regional Government is working to collect authentic historical and cultural relics to further enrich the museum's collection of ancient archaeological artifacts.
